Elementary teachers are back in full swing!

Paraprofessionals and staff participated in CPI training on Monday, August 14th. CPI training equips staff with proven strategies for safely defusing anxious, hostile, or violent behavior at the earliest possible stage.

Groundbreaking took place on Monday, August 14th for the new middle school.

This has been a very busy week for most of us staff finishing up the final schedules, supplies, trainings that need to be done before the K-4 kids start back on the 23rd. Preschool will join us on the 24th.
On Tuesday, August 15th in Charles City some staff also attended training provided by High Tech Tech (https://www.hightechhigh.org/).  What I loved learning about this day was how the school projects integrate hands and minds and incorporate inquiry across multiple disciplines, leading to the creation of meaningful and beautiful work. Students engage in work that matters to them, to their teachers, and to the world outside of school.
Heading into next week don't forget about Open House August 21st: K-4 4-6pm and Preschool 11-1 and 4-6.  Auditorium presentations: 3rd grade 4-4:30, 4th grade 4:45-5:15pm, 3yr old 6:30-7:17. Supper on the playground from 4:30-6:30.
