Bringing the Work World to NHHS/STEM Best Technology/LEAD Update

Bringing the Work World to NHHS

We continue to strive for opportunities to connect NHHS students to business and industry as well as the needs of adult life.  This week, we had visitors in Mr. Hemann's class to discuss insurance and loans rates and well as college and work options.  If you are interested in partnering with us at any please feel free to contact us!

STEM Best Technology

We have been very fortunate to be part of a group of school who has not just once, but twice, received funding from the state-wide STEM Best Grant to fund Iowa BIG North.  Along with Charles City, Osage and RRMR, we were able to our communication tools for use across district line and with business partners in our initiatives.  Each site was granted funds to update our access with large screen monitors and high tech speakers to use Zoom for meeting times.  Students quickly assembled the equipment and are now able to communicate electronically face-to-face more effectively.

LEAD Update

The LEAD group continued their journey to building their individual principles and talking about use of time this week with a visit from author Ethan Miller.  The LEAD group spent semester 1 studying and discussing Miller's first book and were part of the launch of his 2nd book on Thursday where they all received a copy.  With the help of community member Ryan Rausch, student have now been able to connect with Miller both electronically and in person and become a part of his own vision of the 6 Key Principles he lives and teaches daily.
