Iowa Assessments/Blood Drive

Iowa Assessments

Iowa Assessments were administered at NHHS from March 20-22 with make ups following next week.  Students in grades 9-11 took the full battery of tests as well as an interests inventory and sample test. Students will be able to opt out of one final in semester 1 next year if they show proficiency in math and reading or show a year plus of growth in both tests.  Seniors do not take Iowa Assessments and were released off campus during testing times and began class at 10:15. Result from the assessments are expected in late April.

Blood Drive

The NHHS Student Senate Annual Blood Drive was March 21 in the high school gym.  The American Red Cross provided all materials and certified staff for the day.  Appointments were available the week before and walk ins were accepted both of students and staff and the community. The student senate set the goal of donating 22 units and surpassed that with 26 units collected. Students volunteers were utilized through the day and organized by Ms. Nelson, the student senate advisor.  What a great way to make a difference!
