Main Street West Night/FAFSA Help

Main Street West Night

Last Friday was a showcase night for our vocal and speech program, full of individual presentations and a performance of Main Street West.  We have such a talent group of students!  Highlighted were the student participating in individual speech in musical theatre. It was a great opportunity to see kids participate in events outside of the athletic arena and show the community what talents they have fostered at NHHS.

FAFSA help

Parents of juniors-- now is the time to start thinking about financial aid as your students prepare to be seniors.  I know this may seem early, but the FAFSA is now open October 1st of a student's senior year and is based on the previous year's taxes.  Please feel free to stop in and pick up materials and/or email or call Ms. Kipp for assistance (m_kipp@new-hampton.k12.ia.us, 641-394-2144). Current seniors are finishing scholarship applications right now and soon your student will begin that journey also.  I encourage you to begin looking for financial resources including grants and scholarships as soon as possible as well as going on college visits if your student is planning on any post-secondary training and/or education.  In addition, we also have a program called MOC where senior students can spend time during the school day earn credits and maybe income while working during the school day and exploring careers.  Please contact Krissy Anderson (k_anderson@new-hampton.k12.ia.us) if you have interest or would like to learn more.
